SENIOR COPYWRITER

We have an opportunity for a Senior Copywriter to join our team at Antonym, to devise sharp, clever, intuitive copywriting, campaign strategy, and tone of voice strategy.

THE JOB

You are a sharp, brilliant writer with a strategic mind who is adept at crafting original, visionary storytelling. 


You work and think proactively, and understand how to interrogate briefs and pose intuitive questions to extract the most compelling details. 


You approach projects with a 360-degree point of view, and are always thinking strategically and holistically—no matter how small the ask. 


You are on the pulse of innovative brand storytelling; always clever, never cliche. 


You have a meticulous understanding of nuance, and understand the fine line between ownable and anyone. You understand that shorter is always harder, and possess a distinct ability to craft campaigns, descriptions, and storytelling in the tightest possible way. 






WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead the ideation and creation of copywriting, bringing campaigns and consumer experiences to life through exceptional, ownable storytelling

  • Lead ideation and creation of campaign strategy and tone of voice strategy across diverse verticals

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the client with whom you’re working

  • Work closely with Antonym CEO and Clients to craft copywriting and content strategy that supports each brand’s unique mission and business objectives

  • Ensure authenticity and consistency in each Client’s copywriting and tone of voice, helping cultivate ownable storytelling and community for each brand

  • When needed, collaborate cross-functionally with each Client’s unique team to ensure copy has holistic approval and incorporates the storytelling and strategy critical to each department 

  • Take an elevated, 360-degree approach to creative copywriting, concepting, and executing each Client’s unique creative vision, tone of voice, and consumer journey with on-brand, ownable language 

  • Strategically create copy for a variety of collateral across diverse platforms, including brand websites, retailer websites, visual merchandising, product names, program names, emails, invites, social media, in-store copy, events

  • Create scripts for shoots and how-tos 

  • Develop captions, editorial, and supers across video assets 

  • For Antonym, in conjunction with CEO, lead copywriting and strategy for all marketing efforts, including social media, emails, newsletters, case studies, and website copy 


WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in copywriting

  • Strong strategy development and problem-solving skills

  • A confident, client-focused professional to serve as the main point of contact for our clients, with the ability to excel at communication, relationship-building, and ensuring a seamless client experience.

  • Experience working in the beauty and lifestyle industries, especially with artistry and founder brands 

  • Be able to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams and departments to develop intuitive, effective, strategic copywriting 

  • Embrace a fast-paced environment that requires agile thinking, personal ownership, and problem-solving skills 

  • Be able to explain intricate information in a way that anyone can grasp

  • A proactive, highly organized, self-motivated work ethic, with a willingness to learn

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, often with tight deadlines 

  • Enthusiasm, creativity, patience, good judgment, and flexibility in their work

  • Strong people skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to work well with others as well as alone

  • Have availability for meetings from 9:00am—5:00pm EST Monday through Thursday, with flexible, near full-time availability for client work Monday through Friday 


PREFERENCE FOR CANDIDATES WITH 

  • Experience developing and leading tone of voice strategy

  • Experiencing concepting campaigns 

  • Experience developing and executing tone of voice across multiple verticals 

  • Experience creating and executing tone of voice style guides 

  • Experience working in-house for brands, especially beauty brands
